Welcome to Braverman Eye Center - Laser Vision Correction
Braverman Eye Center - Laser Vision Correction
We are a leader in South Florida in refractive Lensectomy and Cataract Surgery, teaching many other surgeons our techniques, and have done over two thousand patients using the upgraded Array, Rezoom and Restor multifocal lens implants, which allow you to have far, intermediate and near vision after cataract or lensectomy surgery. These upgraded implants allow you to be much less dependent on glasses after surgery, with the vast majority of our patients never, or rarely, wearing glasses after surgery. In fact, Gary Player, the professional golfer, who is a happy Rezoom patient, says he is seeing like he used to see when he was thirty years old-- without glasses. Other upgraded lens implant options are also offered, such as the Crystalens, which is a truly accommodating lens implant and the Tecnis lens implant, which gives better night vision than any other lens implant, allowing you to drive more safely at night. This implant is a must if you do a lot of night driving.
We have multiple board-certified Ophthalmologists who are all Fellows of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and who all live locally in Broward or Palm Beach County. In addition to Ophthalmologist Dr. Stanley Braverman who specializes in Refractive Cataract and Implant Surgery, and Corneal and LASIK / Laser Vision Correction Surgery, surgical care also is provided by Dr. David Tenzel, who specializes in Oculo-plastic surgery, Orbital surgery, Botox and Restylane Injections, Dr. Clayton Berger who specializes in complex glaucoma and glaucoma surgery, Drs. Stuart K. Burgess and Julio Perez who specialize in Vitreo-Retinal surgery, and Dr. Eric Ciliberti who specializes in Neuro-ophthalmology. In addition we also have an Optometric staff headed by Dr. Ryan Hargreaves as well as an Externship and Residency Educational Program.
We have built our reputation on integrity and the highest standards of care. We provide high quality eye care to patients throughout South Florida, primarily serving the eye care needs of patients in Hallandale Beach, Hollywood, Dania, Pembroke Pines, Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, Sunrise, Margate, Coral Springs, Pompano, Aventura, North Miami Beach, Miami Beach, Sunny Isles, North Miami and Miami, however we do see many patients from other surrounding communities in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County, Florida. Your eye health should never be overlooked. Unfortunately, the leading cause of blindness in the United States gives the victim no warning signs. Glaucoma, if undetected, will damage the optic nerve so severely that blindness is irreversible. Furthermore, diabetes can cause visual complications that require immediate attention. That's why doctors recommend regular eye examinations. If you have friends who have procrastinated and have not had an eye exam recently, please encourage them to call the Braverman Eye Center. You may be helping to save their sight. Thank you for your visit to the virtual office of the Braverman Eye Center. We hope to answer your questions and care for your needs. Please feel free to call us for further assistance, directions or to make an appointment. As always we will continue to strive to meet all of your eye health needs in the most caring, responsible manner possible

Am I a Good Candidate for LASIK?
To be a good candidate for LASIK in Miami / Ft. Lauderdale, you must be at least 18 years old and in good health, with no eye diseases such as glaucoma or cataracts. LASIK can be used to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism. To find out if you are a candidate for the procedure, please contact Braverman Eye Center at (954) 458-2112 for a one-on-one FREE consultation.
Is LASIK for Everyone?
Not everyone is a good candidate for LASIK. Dr. Braverman will not perform the procedure unless he is 100 percent sure that the patient is a good candidate with a high likelihood of success. If you are not a good candidate – for example, if your corneas are too thin for the surgeon to create an adequate flap – you may qualify for an alternative laser correction treatment such as LASEK, Epi-LASIK or PRK.
Is LASIK Painful?
Dr. Braverman will apply eye-numbing drops prior to the LASIK procedure to ensure a painless surgery. Most patients experience little or no discomfort during the LASIK procedure and no more than mild discomfort after the surgery.
How Long Does LASIK Surgery Take?
LASIK is an extremely exacting procedure that requires sophisticated technology and a highly trained surgeon. However, the procedure itself takes less than 10 minutes per eye, and most patients experience nearly immediate results. Don't think that it is a simple procedure, since there are over 100 separate different steps that must be done to do a quality job.
